1999

The First North America Railway Hall of Fame
Induction Ceremony, August 19, 1999
The inaugural Induction Ceremony for the North America Railway Hall of Fame took place on Thursday, August 19, at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Thomas Art Gallery. At the ceremony eight awards were given for Canadian and North American inductees. The categories for the inductees include Railway Workers/Builders, Technical Innovations, Rolling Stock, and Facility/Structures. The Induction Ceremony was part of the annual Iron Horse Festival held during August in St. Thomas.

Final Selection Committee
The awards were given by the Board of Directors of the North America Railway Hall of Fame on the recommendation of the Final Selection Committee.
Members of the 1999 Final Selection Committee were:
Russell Allison, Retired President of CP Rail
Robert Bondi, President of the National Railroad Hall of Fame in Galesburg, Illinois
Wes Kelley, Vice-President-Public Affairs and Advertising at Canadian National Railway
Ken Verell, North America Railway Hall of Fame board member
Steve Peters, former Mayor of the City of St. Thomas and
current Speaker of The House

The Second North America Railway Hall of Fame
Induction Ceremony, August 16, 2001
The 2001 Induction Ceremony for the North America Railway Hall of Fame took place on Thursday, August 16, at 7:00 p.m. in the historic Canada Southern Railway Station in St. Thomas, Ontario. In addition to awards for North America and Canada, a series of awards were given to recognize achievements at the local level. The awards were given by the Board of Directors of the North America Railway Hall of Fame on the recommendation of the Final Selection Committee.
