Banff Springs Hotel
Facilities & Structures

The Banff Springs Hotel was built in 1887 in the Banff National Park in Alberta, by the Canadian Pacific Railway, under the leadership of Cornelius Vanderbilt.

It was designed by architect Bruce Price in the Scottish Baronial style, and opened to the public June 1, 1888.
The hotel has a spectacular setting in the Rockies, and has been an international tourist destination for over a century. It was enlarged and renovated after a 1926 fire, and winterized in 1968. It is now privately run as a world class hotel and spa.
