The 2001 Induction Ceremony for the North America Railway Hall of Fame took place on Thursday, August 16, at 7:00 p.m. in the historic Canada Southern Railway Station in St. Thomas, Ontario. This year, in addition to awards for North America and Canada, a series of awards were given to recognize achievements at the local level. The awards were given by the Board of Directors of the North America Railway Hall of Fame on the recommendation of the Final Selection Committee.
